A gathering rooted in history. A movement focused on the future. A people committed to action.
The Black People's convention 2027
Reviving the legacy of 1830
to meet the urgency of today.
Why This Convention Matters
In 1830, Richard Allen gathered Black leaders, from various faiths, organizations, and networks at Mother Bethel A.M.E. Church in Philadelphia to confront injustice, organize collectively, and define a path forward for our people.
Today, we face a different moment—but the same urgency. Across this nation, we are witnessing the erosion of civil rights, widening economic gaps, threats to education, and ongoing challenges to our communities’ health, safety, and stability.
The Black People’s Convention is not a conference for conversation alone. It is a space for alignment, strategy, and commitment. It is an extension of Black denominations, houses of faith, institutions of learning, and organizations (civic, cultural, professional, and social) founded in defiant resistance to racial inequality, oppression, suppression, and repression.
More Than a Gathering
This is an intentional convening of faith leaders, organizers, professionals, and institutions across the Black community.
Together, we will:

Commit to measurable outcomes
This is not about being seen. This is about doing the work.
